The DONATE button will take you our secure payment page administered by The Center for Independent Documentary. CID has been the non-profit sponsor for all Henry Ferrini films. They have been instrumental in getting hundreds of independent documentaries on public television.

We’re committed to making this film happen, forging ahead on the animation without funding, the editing without funding, and now this website that will become our portal to the film, and a necessary means of creating interest in the film— also unfunded. Yet, with two volunteers donating hundreds of hours, we have a film.

Now we need your help to cross the finish line.

Here’s where we stand today:

We are very nearly at “picture lock” with all the live video components. Animation is all designed, and blocked in. Now we’re in the rigorous process of making all the in-between drawings that make everything move: not just the people, but the animals, water, beverages, props, doors, curtains, dragonflies, atmosphere, light, and landscape move!

Normally animation on this scale takes a large staff and a big budget. We’re keeping it simple and poetic, but it’s still a large task, and we would love to be able to hire two additional artists to assist.

If you are reading this, consider yourself part of our core audience. I hope this new site will motivate you to support this project, and with a little support, we can keep it up to date.

Together we can make this film. And you’ll join a group of lovely folks and great institutions who have helped us in the past. Check out our interviews page to see the iconic people whose voices are capture in this film. And so many of them are no longer with us.

This next fundraising effort will help us sweeten those sweet voices, tween the animation, finish the motion graphics for titles, credits, callouts, and lower thirds, color grade the whole product, clear rights, and — get this — send the film out to 2026 festivals at long last.
